Senior Battery Cell Engineer

Job Description:

  • Use newly developed electrode materials to perform the assembly and pilot-scale production of battery cells of different formats and specifications, and iteratively study cell design and material formulation using electroanalytical methods.
  • Develop comprehensive battery test protocols to study key design and performance parameters in different charging/discharging regimes.
  • Design framework to enable the electrode mass production process characterisation for different product (electrode material) iterations.
  • Collaborate very closely with a diverse team of material scientists and battery application engineers to improve cell performance and reliability to expedite the commercialisation of new novel materials.
  • Work and brainstorm with core team to identify and pursue new opportunities for improvement and next generation products. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters/PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related disciplines.
  • 5 or more years of total R&D experience, out of which atleast 2 years must be in an industrial/corporate R&D setting. (experience/expertise in electrode/cell manufacturing is a significant plus).
  • Familiarity with battery cell testing in conjunction with various power electronics formats and at a pack level.
  • Conscientious, curious, deliberate thought process. Ability to record and communicate research findings in presentations and open discussions.


Electrode Engineer

Job Description:

  • Process characterisation for new electrode product iterations made for pilot scale and mass-production.  
  • Perform electrode fabrication on a pilot scale, develop internal QC processes and modify existing workflows to confirm to QC standards
  • Iterate with a diverse team of battery cell engineers and material scientists developing our high capacity battery material to ensure production scalability under factory conditions.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Masters in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics or related disciplines. 
  • 4 or more experience of on-site industrial experience in Li-ion battery electrode sourcing, slurry preparation and coating and electrode fabrication experience. 



Business and Partnerships Development Manager

Job Description:

  • Develop strategies for Volt14’s business development and go-to-market execution. 
  • Identify and develop synergistic partnerships across the value chain and establish sales channels. 
  • Represent Volt14 at industry events, and lead negotiations with customers and partners. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales in a materials/chemical/battery company. 
  • Educational background in a physical science or engineering discipline is strongly preferred. 
  • Experience in working with customers/partners in Mainland China/Japan/Korea. 
  • Excited to work in a high growth deep tech startup.
