Use newly developed electrode materials to perform the assembly and pilot-scale production of battery cells of different formats and specifications, and iteratively study cell design and material formulation using electroanalytical methods.
Develop comprehensive battery test protocols to study key design and performance parameters in different charging/discharging regimes.
Design framework to enable the electrode mass production process characterisation for different product (electrode material) iterations.
Collaborate very closely with a diverse team of material scientists and battery application engineers to improve cell performance and reliability to expedite the commercialisation of new novel materials.
Work and brainstorm with core team to identify and pursue new opportunities for improvement and next generation products.
Masters/PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related disciplines.
5 or more years of total R&D experience, out of which atleast 2 years must be in an industrial/corporate R&D setting. (experience/expertise in electrode/cell manufacturing is a significant plus).
Familiarity with battery cell testing in conjunction with various power electronics formats and at a pack level.
Conscientious, curious, deliberate thought process. Ability to record and communicate research findings in presentations and open discussions.
Senior Materials Scientist
Work directly in the development of our proprietary high-performance material for lithium-ion batteries.
Collaboratively design and invent, if needed, new synthesis methods to improve and optimize the performance, safety and production throughput of the cathode/anode material.
Produce electrode coatings and assemble simple battery cells in different configurations and use electroanalytical methods to explore underlying factors to battery performance, and present your findings.
Monitor the advancements in battery technology and processes and advise the team accordingly.
Identify safety hazards and opportunities for improvement. Work cooperatively to address them.
PhD in Chemistry/ Materials Science/ Chemical Engineering with a focus on development, testing and characterization of materials for lithium-ion battery anode and cathode.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on laboratory experience of synthesis and testing of materials for Lithium ion batteries. (Industrial experience and corporate R&D experience is a big plus).
In-depth knowledge of Li-ion battery operation and performance including charging, discharging, safety, impedance, aging, cycle life, temperature effects and failure modes.
Business and Partnerships Development Manager
Develop strategies for Volt14’s business development and go-to-market execution.
Identify and develop synergistic partnerships across the value chain and establish sales channels.
Represent Volt14 at industry events, and lead negotiations with customers and partners.
5+ years of experience in business development or sales in a materials/chemical/battery company.
Educational background in a physical science or engineering discipline is strongly preferred.
Experience in working with customers/partners in Mainland China/Japan/Korea.
